The first thing to remember is that although this is a breakdown on how people voted in our coastal towns, it is not the results of municipal elections.
People vote differently at the voting booths when it comes to Municipal and National Elections. However, it is indicative of how the upcoming local election might turn out.
Almuñécar
Until now the PP under Trinidad Herrera had been the most-voted party in the municipality but in these 28th April ones they fell to third place with the PSOE taking first slot, followed by centre-right Ciudadanos. The far-right Vox came in fourth with Unidos Podemos falling behind to fifth position.
In terms of percentages: PSOE 29.1%, Ciudadanos 20.9%, PP 20.4%, Vox 15.4% and UP 11.1%.

Motril
The PSOE cruised in taking a third of cast votes and top slot. Well behind in second spot was the PP followed by Ciudadanos and then Vox and then Unidos Podemos. The difference between 4th and 5th place was only 0.7%.

We will endeavour to provide our readership with results from Jete, Otivar, Lentegí, Molvízar, Ítrabo, and Vélez Benaudalla. As for voting in La Herradura, they were included in the Almuñécar figures as they belong to the same municipality.
