A woman in her 60s was injured when she fell from a 2nd-floor window whilst trying to escape the flames caused by a fire in her kitchen.
It was a neighbour who had alerted the emergency services, phoning 112 a little after 14.00h yesterday to report a fire in a flat within Urbanización Los Flamencos.
According to the police, when the food that she was frying caught light she climbed out of the window with the intention of entering another one to a different room but instead slipped and fell.
The woman was taken to the Hospital de Traumatología in Granada. Meanwhile, the fire was put out by the Guardia Civil policemen who had been called out, as it was a small one and didn’t require the fire service.
