The residents of the Almuñécar district of Torecuevas will be celebrating their VII Cultural Coexistence Fiesta this evening. It’s really an extension of the Fiesta de la Candelaria (Candlestick Party), also known as the Night of the Lights.
This event is run by El Acueducto Neighbours Association whose president, Martín Cecilia, says that things will kick-off at 19.00h and centre around a huge bonfire where the great and the good of Torrecuevas will congregate… and anyone else who wants to come along for a good time, he assures.
This is the 7th year this fiesta has taken place and although the fun elements have always been directed more towards the kiddies, there is always some really tasty morsels and some great wines to be had.
These small village-like fiestas are great if you want a taste of the real Spain and maybe integrate a little more into the Spanish ‘world.’
Location? Oh for goodness sake… Torrecuevas is not that big! Drive through and look for flames! So go on, pop along this evening and join in, you know you want to!
