The Councillor for Citizen Safety informed that a man had been arrested over an alleged mugging on Avenida de Salobreña in Motril.
The incident occurred around 23.00h on Saturday the 24th of last month.
A young man approached a Policía Local patrol to say that he had just been mugged, giving them a description of the suspect. The said description matched up with a well known bad lad, resident in the north of the town.
The policeman called the information into the police station and by chance there was another police patrol in Barrio San Antonio (northern Motril), who spotted the suspect whose clothes also answered the description given by the victim.
The 41-year-old man, who answers to the initials of L.C.F., was taken in and identified immediately by the victim. He was remanded in custody to await an appearance before a magistrate.
