A well known adult delinquent in Almuñecar has been arrested for allegedly mugging a German backpacker.

The suspect, pretending to be plaincothes police officer, enlisted the help of a prostitute in order to ascertain if the victim had any money on him.

The 51-year-old German was in his tent when the accomplice carried out her sexual services emerging afterwards to confirm that he had plenty of cash on him.

The mugger then burst into the tent, shouting, “It’s the police, come out and show me your papers!”

When he did, the mugger reportedly sprayed him with pepper spray and shoved him to the ground, causing the victim slight injuries. The mugger then made off with his backpack.

The victim made his way to the medical centre because he had two fractured toes. He also received treatment in Hospital Santa Ana in Motril.

However, the thief was disappointment because there was no money in the backpack – it was in a trouser pocket owing to having transferred it there for easy access to pay the lady…
