A bus picked up the intrepid walkers from Almuñécar bus station and trundled them up to the town of Loja for a tour of the traffic lights… as well as the Mirador de Sylvania and the ‘fountain with 25 spouts.’ The fountain has a quaint Arabic legend to it called, El Beso.
Of course, a trip to Loja is not complete without a visit to the church, Iglesia de la Encarnación, which was built on an old mosque.
Oh, as part of the walk along the river, they took in the fish farm where they breed trout and sturgeon; the latter for their eggs: caviar.
The next trip will be on Sunday the 4th of December with a visit along the Camino del Pescao; more specifically between Prados de Lopera and Lentegí, so its a local jaunt.
