At least eleven people have been arrested during a drugs bust, two of them Salobreña-based Guardia Civil policemen. The Policia Nacional carried out the arrests.
One of the Guardia Civil policemen was arrested in Málaga where he was apparently enjoying his summer holidays. The other guardsman was arrested in Salobreña itself.
The arrested policemen, both of whom are in custody, are accused of facilitating the introduction of drugs into the area in collaboration with a drugs ring.
The police operation is still ongoing and a judge has placed a gagging order on further revelations.
