Paseo Blue Zones Activated

ALM Blue zones OnLBeware because Almuñécar & La Herradura now have their beach-road blue zones operative. For some of you the warning comes too late, unfortunately.

The Councillor for Citizen Safety (see photo) announced with the arrival of Semana Santa the said blue zones require tickets, owing to an agreement struck between the Town Council and the private company that runs the parking zones.

You will be required to take out a ticket from 11.00h to 15.00h and 19.00h to 22.00h – outside those times you won’t. The Councillor says that it is to “ensure rotational parking,” which translates for, the municipal coffers are hungry.

As far as parking in the centre of town (commercial area) goes, it will be operative from 09.00h until 14.00h – afternoons are free.

Editorial comment: Could somebody explain why the blue zones on the beach roads are operative because of the Easter Bank Holiday, yet the town centre where parking is free on Sundays and Bank Holidays is still operating, albeit, mornings only? A rhetorical question, obviously.
