The Policía Nacional discovered a vehicle with a double bottom, within which 286 kilos of hashish were hidden.

The 43-year-old, Magreb (North African) driver had just disembarked from the ferry in Motril docks when the police pulled him over during a spot check.

The police found nothing at first but persisted until they discovered the false compartment, which was hidden under the back seats and behind the boot well.

The gentleman concerned was arrested, the car impounded and the drugs confiscated.
