Torrenueva Watchtower Restored

ECO Torrenueva tower OnLThe First Councillor for Torrenueva, Manuel Carrascosa, together with a provincial bigwig, inaugurated the Parque de la Torre Vigía.

The said watchtower, which was built in the XVIII century, has thus been restored after a few hundred years of neglect, the ravages of teen vandals and… not forgetting… a visit from the Royal Navy back in 1812.

Interestingly, also present at the inauguration was Juan López García, who is a direct descendent of the founder of Torrenueva. Not surprisingly, the watchtower park bears the family name.
