Gardening Department on the Rampage

The Gardening Department at the Almuñécar Town Hall have been working their socks off, cutting back the vegetation at the entrance to Cotobro on the N-340.

They have been doing the same to Urbanización El Montañés, as well.

Armed with gardening tools, plenty of fags and 3-D nonchalance, they fought back the triffids and hidden Japanese tourists. They even tackled the palm trees, which owing to their height, required a cherry picker to reach the palm fronds.

Nearby residents were impressed and happy because such was the height of the undergrowth, it was obstructing visibility on the junction.

It is that time of year again, so this sort of work is being carried out all over Almuñécar and La Herradura; the abundant rainfall over autumn and winter, combined with the spring sunshine, has put the vegetation into overdrive.

You can’t imagine how thrilled I was to be able to cover this news…
