It’s that time of year again when the swimming competitions begin along the Costa Tropical; this year Salobreña was the first to ‘kick off’ in this activity on the 15th of July.
“Coming in first is the least important,” said the Delegate for Sport, Francisco Rodríguez, adding, “the most important thing is to take part.” Sound bites come to mind…
The next bay crossing will take place on the 5th of August in La Herradura, and then Motril on the 15th, Castell on the 26th and the Bermejales Reservoir on the 2nd of September. Adults will have to cover between 1,000 metres and 1,500, whilst juniors will have to swim 500 metres.
If you want to take part in any of the forthcoming swimming competitions then have a look at the following webpage, which has all the details for putting your name down, although it is in Spanish.
