Cádiz-born Father Pedro Manuel Salado died in Ecuador shortly after saving the lives of seven children, who had been swept into the sea by a freak wave, near Quinindé.
[mappress]The 48-year-old priest, who had been serving as a missionary in the country since 1998 at the Hogar y Escuela Sagrada Familia, swam out to bring each one back to safety before literally dying of exhaustion after saving the last two.
