The Coucillor-Delegate for the Environment, Nieves Atencia, has announced the winner for the contract bid on the restoration of the Casas de los Mineros, which is situated in the Fuente del Esparto area. The said construction company is Transportes Antelo, who will carry out the work with a budget of 91,000 euros. Six different companies had forwarded bids, but the Town Hall decided that the Transportes Antelo‘s was the best choice.

Las Casas de los Mineros will be converted into a hostel to compliment the recreational facilities there, providing a rural or green tourism alternative to ‘beach-and-sunshine’ tourism already on offer.

Sra. Atencia also announced that the work on the access lane for Fuente del Esparto has now been completed.
