The Town Hall and TUI Travel PLC, have come up with a few ideas to promote Almuñécar and La Herradura as tourist destinations for Scandinavians and French-speaking countries.
TUI Travel PLC are a world leader in vacation type travel, so they should know what they are doing.
The agreement aims to promote and disseminate the benefits of Almuñécar and La Herradura as a tourist destination in areas that are strategically critical to the tourism sector in the above mentioned countries.
Of course the Mayor has her name all over this initiative and explained that TUI Spain will be implementing a plan to promote the area on selected online sites that are managed by TUI, like hotbeds, hotelopia and bedsonline.
The move should strengthen the area’s presence in the required markets… which is already seeing a significant increase in visitors from the target countries.
The Mayor, Ms. Herrera said that the agreement “aims to continue the promotional activities undertaken during 2013 and which marked a 27% increase in overnight stays booked through the selected sites.”
Brilliant! Well done Almuñécar and La Herradura! Let’s get those northern Europeans down here, feed and water ’em and send ’em back ready for a repeat performance the following year, is what we say!
