Playa Cantarrijan

This summer saw a record number of visitors on one of the Costa Tropical’s most popular nudist beaches, Playa Cantarrijan, within the sub-municipal boundaries of La Herradura.

Marina del Este Stabilized

The extensive work that has been taking place on the hillside behind and above the Marina del Este has concluded. All told 30 shafts have been sunk to drain off underground water within the hillside.

Whilst Out Swimming…

A holidaymaker from Cordoba literally bumped into a package of hashish whilst out swimming off Punta de la Mona, La Herradura. The drugs; 40 kg of hashish pellets, were wrapped in raffia sacking.

Beach Umbrella War Abates

Six years ago, Benavides declared war on the Granadinos over beach umbrellas – there was no problem with people using them for what they were intended; the problem was they were being used to stake out a spot on the beach for later use.

La Herradura On Track

The village of La Herradura has many miles, tracks and dry riverbeds spread through the village centre, housing estates and rural areas, all of which need continuous maintenance, especially after the investment of municipal funds and the help and support of the Construction Planning and Deputation department of the local government to get a good many of roads and tracks asphalted.

Costa Tropical Hotel Blues?

The 13th of August was the only day, so far, that hotels on the Costa Tropical were 100% full – campsites, however, have been full on the last two weekends at least.

Art Exhibition in La Herradura

Renate van Nijen is an internationally exhibited Dutch artist and has been purchased by clients from all over the world, from Amsterdam to New York and Moscow, from Argentina to Spain and Germany, as well as being exhibited in Rome, Paris, and The Hague, to name but a few.
