Los herradureños piled out in support of the fund-raising event that took place in the Plaza de la Independicia to raise cash for the Three Kings Parade (Cabalgata de Reyes) on Saturday the 3rd.

It was also announced at the event that a flea market would be opening in the coming days

The idea was for a merienda (tea-time meal) consisting of churros con chocolate, munched to the accompaniment of the Coro Rociero de La Herradura, Cubanísimo and even a group from the Asociación Fusión Cuerpo y Mente, who gave an aerobic display, which had the audience burning calories just watching them.

And the posterior burning off of calories wasn’t such a bad idea as 200 litres of thick drinking chocolate was consumed, along with a corresponding amount of churros (batter rings)

As well as the aforementioned street market, the neighbourhood commission has also organised a mega Christmas Hamper to be raffled off.
