Carchuna Castle Reopened

At last the Carchuna castle or fort, which is down near the beach, has been restored and renovated – the walls have been restored and the inside renovated. There was a failed attempt back in the 80’s to sort the castle out.

Salobreña Castle in the Spotlights.

Well, not exactly ‘spotlights;’ better said, floodlights. The last time that the castle basked in splendid illumination was about four years ago. Now, to mark the start of the start of the Fiestas Patronales del Rosario, the flood lights set in the Paseo de las Flores went back into action.

Art Exhibition in Salobreña Castle

From the 26th to the 28th of July, inclusive, there is an exhibition with the castle in Salobreña, which will be inaugurated by D. Federico Mayor Zaragoza, who is a scientist, scholar, politician, diplomat and poet. He served as Director-General of UNESCO from 1987 to 1999.

Shakespeare at the Castle

Salobreña castle will be hosting the play El Desdén de Amar, which is a Spanish adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing; a comedy set in Mesina (Italy) in the XVI Century.
