Art Exhibition in Salobreña Castle

From the 26th to the 28th of July, inclusive, there is an exhibition with the castle in Salobreña, which will be inaugurated by D. Federico Mayor Zaragoza, who is a scientist, scholar, politician, diplomat and poet. He served as Director-General of UNESCO from 1987 to 1999.
Shakespeare at the Castle

Salobreña castle will be hosting the play El Desdén de Amar, which is a Spanish adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing; a comedy set in Mesina (Italy) in the XVI Century.
Herradura Castle Shipwreck Expo

School Children from La Herradura put on an art exhibition centred upon the shipwreck of 1562 in the village’s bay.
Dark Ages Descend on La Herradura!

The La Herradura Medieval Fair kicks off on Friday the 15th at 18.00h and will conclude on Sunday. There will be stacks of activities, ranging from birds of prey to donkey rides, bouncy castles to the village’s brick and mortar one, and plenty of Medieval costumes and tasty morsels.

Saving the Castle

The castle at Castell de Ferro, which was originally built around 1300, is very much the worse for wear – some believe that it is on the point of collapsing, thanks to a sizable crack through one of its three remaining walls.

Trinidad Herrera, the Mayor of Almuñécar, got together with the Delegate for Culture for the Junta, Pedro Benzal and members of the municipal councillor team to work out what to do with parts of the old-town castle walls, which are in a lamentable state and are in danger of collapsing.
