The Salobreña Castle is about to bring out an audio-guide for its visitors in four languages. The audio-guide contains local history and interesting anecdotes. On the down side – and it is a small one – the entrance fee for the castle goes up by 50 cents; i.e., from two euros to 2.5 euros. This system will replace the brochures given out to the castle visitors.
This new system hasn’t cost the municipal coffers a penny… or euro, as the company that provided it is doing it off its own back, as a self promotion campaign.
The castle will have about 100 audio-guide apparatus and about the same number of headphones so that two people can listen to it at the same time.
The Councillor for Tourism, María Eugenia Rufino, considers that this is a big plus for the castle. She pointed out that the content is different from the information about the town that visitors can download from Internet, as it deals specifically with the castle.
