La Herradura is holding its annual across-the-bay swimming competition this coming Sunday (3rd), which will be the last competition in the provincial swimming trials 2017.
This year’s annual across-the-bay swimming competition held in La Herradura was won by Alberto Esquitino (Club Natación Churriana).
Alberto Esquitino from the Club Natación Churriana was the overall winner of the La Herradura swimming race.
Sunday saw the second annual ‘across-the-bay’ swimming competition as part of the Virgen del Carmen fiestas in Salobreña.
La Herradura finally held its swimming competition with 80 swimmers taking part. Estela Orozco and Marcos Álvarez took the women’s and men’s first places, respectively. There were prizes for the kiddies and veteran swimmers, Ángel Galdo, was handed a plaque.
The La Herradura, across-the-bay, swimming competition due to be held this month has been postponed owing to adverse weather conditions. The First Councillor for the village, Ruiz Joya, took the decision, despite many participants already having registered, after it being recommended by the maritime branch of the Guardia Civil and by the Red Cross.
