The La Herradura, across-the-bay, swimming competition due to be held this month has been postponed owing to adverse weather conditions. The First Councillor for the village, Ruiz Joya, took the decision, despite many participants already having registered, after postponement being recommended by the maritime branch of the Guardia Civil and by the Red Cross.

Consequently, the event will now be held on the 16th of September, the results of which will still be valid for the provincial VII Travesía competition, 2012.

The event, which had not been held in recent years, is divided into four categories: junior and senior and male and female for each. Starting times will be kept the same, thus the junior categories will begin at 10.30h, for example.
