Fresh School Hope

Parents in La Herradura are once again demanding a new school for their children, as the present school does not meet all the criteria necessary to provide a reasonable quality of education for it’s pupils, citing that students have to leave the grounds during breaks and no gymnasium or sports court facilities are available.

Cocaine Find

The Guardia Civil have recovered a package from the sea, just off Punta de la Mona, containing 26 kilos of cocaine.
The find came as a result of a tip-off from someone who said there appeared to be a strange looking package, wedged between rocks, in the shallows just off the Punta.

New Surface For Las Tejas

The football field at Las Tejas will be transformed in the near future, with the introduction of a new artificial surface, the second such sporting surface in La Herradura.

El Ancla Cliff

The Legend that is Cliff Feasey from El Ancla celebrated his 70th birthday last month, and it is a mark of the man that so many people not only turned out to celebrate with him, but who also contributed to the gift from his friends of an all expenses paid trip to The Emirates Stadium, home of his beloved Arsenal, to watch a premiership game next season.

Great Gallinero

Driving out of La Herradura on the N-340 towards Cerro Gordo, I realised I hadn’t been for a meal in the fantastic Gallinero for quite a few months! A colleague of mine has been recently and took her family along, reporting back the food was as good as ever, with chicken dishes to suit every taste.

Lobres Care Home Project

Nicky and John Euesden are fronting a brilliant new project in Lobres, which will see the construction of a Care & Rehabilitation Centre in the town. With tenders out for the construction work, things are really moving ahead.

Consulate Open Day

The British Consulate in Málaga and the Pension, Benefit and Healthcare Team are holding an open event in Nerja. It will take place on Wednesday, May 19th and offer advice on some of the issues that matter most to British residents.
