The new Centro de Salud will open on Monday, the 22nd of this month, at long last.
In fact, some patients have already begun receiving appointments to be seen in this building starting on the opening date.

As most Salobreña residents know by now, the new building is on the TH1, right next to the park, half way down to the beach.
Recently, whilst furniture and equipment was being installed, municipal, garden-maintenance workers have been busy doing green-fingered tasks on the gardened area around the building.
The major novelty that this centre will bring compared to the old premises lies in the improvement to the continuous-care point, as the Junta will keep a second emergency team operational 365 days a year there.
Minister of Health, Antonio Sanz, made this declaration during a visit to the facilities alongside the Mayor of Salobreña, Javier Ortega.
The new facilities will also sort out one of the historical problems at the previous clinic, which is the lack of parking space, thanks to a large parking area.
When it does open, it will provide medical coverage for 17,500 inhabitants on the Costa Tropical, managing not only the population of the town and its outlying districts of La Caleta, La Guardia, and Lobres, but also the care of users and referrals from nearby towns such as Molvízar, Ítrabo, or Los Guájares, although, it’s a bit of a stretch calling Los Guájares ‘nearby,’ as it is 3-day camel trek and a packed lunch away.

Well I guess the people down that part of Salobrena will be happy. Those up by the busier part of town , not so.
A large parking area. Near the beach sea front. Moi cynical ?? Of course now that the actual beach front road is going to be a big no driving parking zone. Then no one would dream of parking at the newest car park and a gentle stroll to the beach, with kit and kabodle, would they ?? Secondary emergency team. So like a real A&E. 24 hours a day. Now that’s a step forward. Well done !!
