ESO3-level pupils from Órgiva’s secondary school, IES Alpujarra put on a charity performance to raise funds for the local branch of the AECC (cancer association). The reason: one of the English teachers in the school was diagnosed with cancer this year.

The publicly owned company, Cetursa, that manages the whole of the skiing complex on Sierra Nevada decided to close the season earlier than normal, which with the late snowfalls at the beginning of April, did not amuse the rest of the businesses up there; restaurants, hotels and shops.

Lanjarón Lowers Taxes

The Lanjarón Town Hall has decided to lower taxes for the business sector and anybody who creates employment. According to the Mayor, Eric Escobedo, this will affect taxes on ‘occupation of public way’, i.e. bar and restaurant terraces, for example.
