The Solar Eclipse & Perseids

What better place to observe the solar eclipse on Wednesday the 12th than on top of Sierra Nevada! OK, there are better places, if you don’t mind hiking it up to northern Spain, but nevertheless!

Listeriosis Warning

The Junta de Andalucía has issued a contaminated food alert after Listeria monocytogenes  was detected in a specific lot of fuet ibérico made by Cárnicas Sierra Nevada in Cájar (Granada).

50 Metres Down

Fire personnel from the city of Granada were called out to free a man trapped in his car after it went off the side of an embankment.

Narco Helicopter Crash

A helicopter flown by drug runners, which was used to sneak in low below the radar, crashed in an olive grove in the town of Pedrera (Sevillia). Both occupants were killed in the crash.

Cars Swept Away

Fire personnel based in Cádiar were called out to confirm that two cars that had been swept down the Río Chico in Órgiva on Wednesday had nobody in them.

Low Snow

One glance at the Spanish Meteorological Agency’s webpage is enough to make your eyes pop because it speaks of snow as low as 400 metres in Granada on the 5th, for example.
