The Junta de Andalucía has issued a contaminated-foodstuff alert after Listeria monocytogenes was detected in a specific lot of fuet ibérico made by Cárnicas Sierra Nevada in Cájar (Granada).

This particular lot of contaminated, cured meat was distributed in the city of Granada, Maracena, Láchar, Lanjarón and Antequera.

The said lot/no is 260521 with a best-before date of the 21st of November, 2026. As a precautionary measure, the Dirección General de Salud Pública y Ordenación Farmacéutica instructs that it be withdrawn from supermarket/shop shelves.

The health authorities recommend that if you have purchased fuet belonging to this lot/no, do not eat it and take it back to where you bought it, and if you already have already consumed it, get a check up in your local Centro de Salud.

The symptoms for listeriosis are high temperatures, vomiting and diarrhoea.

The alert was issued by the Agencia Española de Seguridad Alimentaria y Nutrición (AESAN).
