A helicopter flown by drug runners, which was used to sneak in low below the radar, crashed in an olive grove in the town of Pedrera (Sevillia). Both occupants were killed in the crash.
This incident hasn’t just recently occurred but took place July 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic. What makes it relevant today is the court finding.

An ongoing investigation centred upon a drug operation, running hashish, using a helicopter based in Albondón. Evidence showed that the mastermind behind the drugs operations had ordered night-vision goggles from a gun shop in Toledo so that the pilot could fly a helicopter at night.
According to the court findings, one of the accomplice had rented a restaurant in Polopos-La Mamola, as well as a house in Albondón, from March to June 2020 where the suspects allegedly illegally built a small hangar next to the farmhouse, where they hid the helicopter for several weeks.
The police had been interviewing known helicopter pilots when the machine was located in Válor in July, 2020 for the second time: “providing an ideal opportunity for the police to place a tracking beacon,” mentions the court findings.
The surviving members of the gang have been convicted of crimes against public health and smuggling and handed down three and a half years in prison and fines of four million euros.
