Have you ever had one of those moments when you wished that the ground would open up and swallow you? Well, for a Chinese trucker, that’s exactly what happened.
The truck driver was trundling along through Kunming, in the Yunnan province of China when a hole opened up beneath his vehicle. At over 30ft deep and 20ft wide, it is rather incredible that the chap survived at all.

The Games Up
by David Darby •
Twin sisters Louise and Martine Fokkens, both 70-years-old, have decided to finally retire. They have decided that working after you reach 70 is just too much.
Oh… I forgot to mention that both these ladies have been prostitutes in Amsterdam’s red light district for over 50 years. They believe they were the oldest ‘working girls’ in the city and there has even been a film made about them, a documentary entitled Meet The Fokkens.
No-Food for Thought

Food is a potent inducer of metabolic responses (and pleasure ). Specific nutrients enhance muscle action, while others boost appetite or modulate inflammatory responses. On the other hand, caloric restriction under normal conditions ( 20 to 40 % fewer calories than required ) has been shown to protect against the development of chronic diseases. ( To highlight this : there was hardly any diabetes or gout in post-war Germany ) Exploiting the differential effects of food or its absence during disease may be one strategy to enhance the efficacy of drug therapies.

Vote Hitler?
by David Darby •
Yes, there is somebody running for election with the name Hitler! Not in Europe, but in the small northeast Indian state of Meghalaya, where the population have a rather interesting fascination for weird, wonderful and sometimes downright outrageous names.
