Well, thanks to a lot of work, co-ordination and bubble blowing, the great seabed cleaning up operation off Punta de la Mona retrieved over 200 kilos of discarded rubbish, amongst which was a traffic sign, a large lorry tyre, plastic bins, pipes, mirrors and a bucket load of fishing hooks – there was even a part of an electricity generator.
Driver-Friendly Salobreña
by Martin Myall •
Salobreña shows all the signs of having it very clear that if you want to come to Salobreña to spend your holidays, then it is a certainty that you are going to come by car, which is why the town goes out of its way to make sure you can find somewhere to park… and no blue zones, even in the height of summer.

The reaction to this announced tax amnesty, not surprisingly, has conveyed both incredulity and rejection.

by Martin Myall •
Locals of and visitors to Salobreña will have seen quite a bit of military camouflage around the town lately and that is because the Spanish Royal Guards Regiment has taken up residence in the municipal sports hall. But you can relax; it’s not a military coup – again – but part of a combination of PR and military training, as each year a different province around Spain is chosen.
2nd-Hand, 4-Wheel Revival
by Martin Myall •
Who can afford a new car without a bank loan? And as bank loans are as prolific as green dogs… not many new cars are being sold at the moment, so it should come as no surprise than 2nd-hand-car sales are far outstripping their fresh-off-the-assembly-line competitors: 2.3 old cars sold for each new one.
