The driver of a minibus has been arrested for allegedly leaving an elderly man, forgotten, in the vehicle, which led to his death. He is facing a manslaughter charge.

The driver works for a home for the elderly in Mairena del Aljarafe (Sevilla) and the victim had been taken to an out-patient department one Friday last month.

When the minibus arrived at the centre, the passengers debussed all except for an 84-year-old man in a wheelchair at the back of the vehicle.

After several hours in the vehicle, unbeknown to the driver, staff at the centre found the missing man and immediately alerted the emergency services. However, when the paramedics arrived, they could only confirm that the man had died.
