It restores a little faith in Mankind when something like the following crops up: a man finds 400 euros in a cashpoint (ATM) and hands it in to the police, who track down its rightful owner.

According to available information, this occurred on Tuesday in the evening when a 36-year-old man went to an ATM belonging to CaixaBank on the Plaza Aurora.
He found four 50-euro notes and ten 20-euro ones in the cash despener of the ATM totalling 400 euros – we might not be able spell at the Gazette, but we can count.
So instead of treating himself to a slap up meal, he went to the Policía Nacional building and handed it, explaining its origins.
The police, instead of treating themselves to a slap up meal, rapidly began finding out who it belonged to, by contacting the bank, and accessed the CCTV images from the ATM.
They quickly saw who had used the cashpoint moments before the Good Samaritan turned up – remember, the despenser has a short time limit before it shuts.
The absent-minded person was a 66-year-old gent. When the police contacted him, he told them he had given up the money as lost, so he was over the moon when he collected the money from the police station.
What we don’t know, was if he treated the honest man to a slap up meal… or at the very least, a few drinks.
