The Mayor of Almuñécar, Juan José Ruiz Joya, accompanied by First Councillor for La Herradura, Elena Mora, visited the tarmacking work in the Marina del Este.
This task is part of a plan to improve 14 streets and avenues within the municipality. The project intends to put 32,000 sq/m under a new bed of tarmac.

Mayor Ruiz Joya explained, “We continue to move forward in improving our road network with actions that allow us to renew heavily deteriorated surfaces, improving safety and comfort for both residents and visitors.”
A sum of 900 euros will not only be spent on laying tarmac but also adjusting manholes and re-applying road markings.
First Councillor Elena Mora got a word in edgeways and said, “Marina del Este is a very busy area, especially at certain times of the year.” Which is not exactly a stunning revelation.
Other areas that will see a lick of the black stuff in Almuñécar and La Herradura are Ronda de los Holandeses, Avenida del Mediterráneo and Camino de Río Seco, among others, with an estimated execution period of five months from the start of the works.
