The Almuñécar Policía Local would like to remind citizens that the police station (housed above the bus station) has a lost-items department.
Amongst such items are phones (obviously not landline phones) car keys, house keys, chastity-belt keys (just kidding… or am I?) glasses, wallets and other electronic items and personal possessions, such as a false leg, glass eyeball or small thermonuclear reactor bought cheap in a bazaar in Bagdad. (OK, definitely joking if the Yanks or UK GCHQ are reading this)

The Councillor for Citizen Safety; i.e., civilian head of the municipal police, Mª Carmen Martín Orce, and the Police Chief, Marina Sánchez, have made a joint appeal to all those who have lost something other than their virginity to go to the police station and check if they have the missing object there.
Obviously, you can’t just walk in there and say, “Yep, it’s all mine, thank you very much!” because you have to prove that it is yours, either with ownership paperwork or a description of something on the item that is not immediately visible (a watch or bracelet might have a dediciation on it) or your phone IME number, for example. Another way of proving that it is yours is a photo with you holding it or wearing it, for instance.
Police Chief Sánchez says that if you do come across a lost item, then please hand it in at the lost-property office in the station.
