The Almuñécar branch of the Partido Socialista (PSOE) has found a nice, new, hefty stick to hit the Mayor with, concerning the work on the N-340 junctions.
This comes after the blow delivered by the Spanish road authorities, the DGT, who ordered the Town Hall to stop daytime work on the Los Pinos roundabout.

The PSOE claim that the Mayor’s administration gets ‘nul point’ for organisation and planning this public-works project, which basically consisted of tarting up the traffic-light junctions and annoying drivers for the duration.
The socialists say that there have been nothing but delays on getting it finished, describing the whole thing as a chapuza (botch job). They also point at the construction of the municipal-market building that is still not finished despite the original execution period having long expired.
PSOE Spokesperson, Francis Puertas, considers that the project has been carried out in a series of improvisations and delays, accusing the planners of putting aesthetics before practical use; i.e., of functional use for residents and visitors.
They Mayor, they claim, puts the blame on third parties (other entities) rather than assuming responsibility for the delays.
Editorial comment: how anybody would think that giant avocados would solve the problem of obsolete, traffic-light-controlled junctions, is complete guacamole.
