Evacuated by Helicopter

A man had to be flown to hospital this morning after a traffic accident on the old Almería road (N-323, Vadillo trading estate) within the municipality of Motril.

The car, heading towards Torrenueva Costa, left the road, (more or less level with Maderas Román) after the driver suffered a heart attack.

The Policía Local pulled the 65-year-old man from the small van and began the CPR procedure, also administering two discharges from their mobile defibullator in order to recover his pulse and breathing. He was then flown by an air-ambulance helicopter to Hospital Clínico de Granada.

All this happened around 09.10h and no other vehicle was involved as the out-of-control van hit a wall.
