Parents were worried about what could have happened to their son when he failed to return, so they phoned 112 to say that he had gone out in his car and had not returned.

Explaining where he said he was going, the police followed what would have been his route and they saw an upturned car off the road, down an embankment. Fortunately, the son was standing next to it and unharmed.

The accident had taken place close to 18.00h on Sunday evening near Belerda, which is a municipal dependency of Guadix.
