Reader: Break-In

The owner of La Herradura's Hideaway Bar writes in to warn people about a series of break-ins in the village.

Seaside Gazette,

Wanted to make you aware of events that happened Thursday night in La Herradura. I’m the owner of The Hideaway Bar, and it was broken into on Thursday night and robbed.

They took 2 televisions and the cash box, and tried (but failed) to break into the pool table as well. They managed to break the lock on one of my metal shutters and got in that way.

The Guardia Civil came and dusted for fingerprints yesterday, but all they found was a single print that revealed the thieves were wearing gardening gloves while they worked.

While I was filing the police report at the Guardia Civil station in Almunecar, I was told that the thieves hit The King’s Lounge on the same night, and a third restaurant that had an alarm so they were unsuccessful (I’m not sure which restaurant it was). That’s three in one night that I know about.

I am sending this on to make sure all the businesses in La Herradura lock up their doors tight these days, and make sure they have alarms and are secure. If anyone sees suspicious people about in the wee early morning hours, and especially if they are wearing gardening gloves, then report it!
