A 17-year old who was riding a non-electric scooter within the municipality of San Antonio de Benagéber (Valencia) was killed in the early hours of Thursday morning after being hit by a car.

The victim was riding along a stretch of service road (which has no street lighting) running alongside an autovia around 01.15h that morning. His vehicle has no lights, either.

As explained by a municipal source, the young man was riding without lights along this service road, and was knocked over near kilometre point 14.5.

Editorial comment: Oddly, this road incident will be considered as a pedestrian death; i.e., knocking down/over a pedestrian.
