The Public Safety and Traffic Department of the Salobreña town Hall is currently installing new surveillance cameras to add to the existing ones.
The Councillor for the said department says that this will make it easier for the Policía Local to control access to the municipality and supervise road traffic.

Councillor Rodríguez said that they will be operational shortly and that they are being placed in La Caleta, at the entrance to La Guardia, for traffic-control purposes.
Those that will be installed on the Cuesta del Rosario, Puerta de la Villa (Next to the Hogar del Pensionista) and at the end of Calle Antequera will be used to control access restrictions.
The councillor explained that presently they are working on a bylaw that will authorise their use; hence their not be immediately put into service.

At one time, coming from under the bridge, you could turn left at the broken white lines. Then they were overpainted, badly, by some jobsworth. Now the extra coat of paint has worn away. So people stop to turn left. Absolutely no road sign forbidding this. I believe some unlucky people have been fined for turning left, rather the clogging up the roundabout area by the school. So what’s right?” – Patrick Barry Storey

Please enlighten me. The turning onto the upramp road. By the vets with limited parking. Unless you want to park on concrete tree pots. Opposite mercadona in Salobrena. It has two, I believe cameras. One facing towards the roundabout. The other it seems , to the middle of the road. At one time coming from under the bridge. You could turn left at the broken white lines. Then they were overpainted, badly. By some jobs worth. Now the extra coat of paint has worn away. So people stop to turn left. Absolutely no road sign forbidding this. I believe some unlucky people have been fined for turning left. Rather the clogging up the roundabout area by the school. So what’s right??
