It never fails to catch people’s eye when sailing a ship enters our horizon on the coast, and the arrival of the cruise ship, Sea Cloud is no exception.

This 4-masted, luxury cruiser visits Motril Port each year, bringing 53, well-heeled, American tourists, not only to Motril, but also with visits to Almuñécar, Salobreña and the city of Granada for a look around the Alhambra.

Her stay was brief, however (one and a half days with an overnight stay) as is always the case of cruise ships working their way in and out of the Mediterranean. In this instance, her 8-day passage took in Lisbon and Huelva before stopping here and then continuing on to Valencia and beyond.

This shipping line, which has several tall ships, has used Motril Port over 30 times, which is pretty indicative that Motril Port is a popular stop because of the proximity of the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada, consider the Chairman of the Port Authorities, José García Fuentes.

During last month alone a total of nine cruise ships docked at the port.
