The Guardia Civil have carried out two arrests in connection with the shoot out near the Punta de la Mona in La Herradura.

At the scene of the shoot out on the 7th, they found drug packages in the car that had been pushed off the road, as well as more hidden amongst the undergrowth.

It was during this time that they saw a young man taking photos of them from a distance, so they approached him and got his ID.

They also found a set of car keys on him that corresponded to one of those cars involved. Then, inside the car they found car docs with the owner’s addres: Calle Gualdalquivir in Almuñécar.

Obtaining a search warrant for the dwellings they discovered 800 marihuana plants inside and 7.6 kilos of packaged hashish ready for sale. This led to the arrest of the second suspect.

Both men are being held in custody until trial after having appeared before a magistrate.
