Somebody walked into a gambling hall in Almuñécar and fired a pistol shot at the ceiling. He has since been arrested.
This hold-up incident occurred around 12.00h on the 20th of October. The now-arrested, 26-year old burst into the premises wearing a hood and a full-face, ski mask.
Apart from the pistol, he was also holding a carpenter’s chisel as a weapon… and he hadn’t come to clean the windows!
Explaining to the employee there that a lack of cooperation would lead to his demise, he marched into the cabin where the till is kept, prised it open, bagged around 600 euros in notes and legged it… sharpish!
The Guardia Civil in Almuñécar began investigating the crime, starting with the inspection of the premises. The first thing that they noticed was that there was no hole in the ceiling, so it must have been a starting pistol; i.e., blanks. They then examined the CCTV images and took a statement from the employee.
Despite the ski mask and hood, the police recognised the robber; a well known, local, bad lad. It took a couple of days to track him down, but nab him they did, booked him and brought him before a magistrate to arrange a trial.
