A man was booked for drink driving on the back road to Carchuna and Calahonda after he crashed his car.
That’s the road from Puntalón that goes over the hill and down into Carchuna, passing under the autovía bridge before entering Calahonda through the plastic greenhouse area.
There is little visibility on crossroads once you’re amongst the greenhouse, which is where he came a cropper.
The accident occurred Tuesday afternoon and resulted in the car taking out an irrigation pipe and an electricity post. The car, as you can see from the accompanying, Policía Local (Motril) photograph, was a write-off.
The Motril fire service and the municipal break-down lorry were sent to the scene.
The 33-year-old driver, who was immediately arrested, was unhurt, except for his wallet, of course. The breathalyser went crosseyed after taking his reading.
