A cluster of tourists in Nerja' main, surface car park, the Aparcamiento Carabeo stood beside an ambulance parked there.
By the number of evidently foreign tourists standing by the ambulance, the gathering must have been the result of a tourist coach having just parked and disgorged its passengers.
We asked the Guardia Civil officers, one man and one women, what had happened and they responded that an elderly foreign woman had fallen over and injured her right arm.
The ambulance seemed to be taking its time, bandaging the injured woman’s arm because the crowd had dispersed and the officers had returned to their patrol car before it pulled off with its blue lights going.
By the way, this huge parking area has returned to its former pay-for-parking status, so the days of free parking are over.
