This morning there was no longer a Guardia Civil tent in the parking area at the entrance to Nigüelas but we did managed to speak with two officers in a patrol car.
It appears that the search in and around the village has drawn a blank so they are possibly extending the search area into the rest of the Valle de Lecrín and perhaps into the city of Granada itself.
Iván had been visiting his parents who live in Níguelas (his birth place) although he now lives in New York City and works as a university professor. It seems that he left home Monday morning without taking money, ID or his mobile phone with him.
The only information that we can be certain about is that he had not been found at the time of writing this article.
Rather than reporting daily even though there have been no results, we shall only publish details of any developments when they occur in future.

Rosanne: not so far. It appears that they are leaning towards considering that his disappearance was voluntary but that has not changed their determination to find him in case he has had an accident. What I say here is not the official line, but rather just what some individuals involved in the search have expressed
