ALM Barbero in Sweden FB23In other words, they want to take Almuñécar/La Herradura to the country of origin of the tourists they hope to attract, rather than through tourism fairs in Madrid, for example, or through Internet. They want the name of the municipality to be heard up there.

Accordingly, during this month, in coordination with tour operators, they have produced audio/visual campaigns to be divulged in the countries of origin.

The Councillor for Tourism and Beaches, Daniel Barbero, who is also the First Councillor for La Herradura, explained that the first campaign will target Stockholm with promotional video clips over a period of ten days. This is the first time that the Almuñécar Tourist Board has targeted the capital of Sweden.

The clips will be shown at the Central Train Station in Stockholm and the Sergels Torg (square). Four of them will be inside the station and the fifth one on the corner of the said square outside.

Councillor Barbero considers this location as a strategic spot for the screening of the promotional videos as this station is the country’s largest and therefore sees thousands of people passing through each day. He also considers Swedish tourists to be very important for the municipality given the high number of people from this country staying in Almuñécar/La Herradura in the autumn, winter and spring.
