It looks like Salobreña will soon have a new dog-park, which will be next to Avenida del Mediterráneo.
The Town Hall also says that it is doing up the existing one in the north of the town; old equipment will be replaced as well as new features added.
The new park comes into being to provide something closer for those living in the eastern end of Salobreña, so that they don’t have to go across town to the other one.
One thing that is different, however, is the size of the dog-park; the second one will be smaller as it will be set up on a patch of free space between the supermarket and the gasolinera.
The Councillor for the Environment, Ángela Rodríguez, hopes to be able to inaugurate the park within a couple of weeks and during the month of March reopen the old dog-park.
On the subject of the older dog-park, one of the things included in the work will be to provide access for people with mobility problems.

I hope there are containers for people to throw the black bags in. If people are good enough to pick up their dog shit the bag is so often thrown on the path and on the street where it is squashed by cars. Filthy.
