The Guardia Civil had a check point on the main, N-340 junction, on the exit ramp for Motril, randomly pulling drivers over. it lasted most of the morning.
On another note, residents of Salobreña will have noticed road works on the N-340 between the Alminares junction and the Costa Aguilera one. This has been going on since the last week, at least.
I asked one of the workman working there what they were doing and he explained that they were laying a concrete, rain-drainage chute, running from the Costa Aguilera junction (the barranco there) down the side of the road as far as the house on the rock.
One of the overtaking lanes has been closed with bollards whilst this work continues.
Those locals that hoped that they were working on a roundabout or waiting lane that would mean that you won’t have to head to La Caleta or Hotel Salobreña to turn round, will be disappointed.

Patrick: they’ve announced that funds have been earmarked but next year are the municipal elections so every party in every town is announcing the wonderful things that they have planned in the offing.
Any news on the proposed roundabout at the turn off for alcampo. Or will it take years. Like the new road to the petrol stations at the industrial estate.
Which will be I guess the outer ring road for the charging inner zone by next year. ??
