There is a large hill fire in the Guájar Alto area of the Costa Tropical, causing a towering column of smoke visible from most directions.
People have been sending in photos to the Infoca Twitter account of the column of smoke including as far away as Cenes de la Vega, Armilla and even as far away as from Carihuela near Torremolinos.

The fire was report just after 14.00h – infoca posted photos at 14.20h.

We can see the fire clearly in the Lecrin valley. Including the flames. I hope everyone is safe and it’s out soon
