The Guardia Civil in Almería have arrested individuals, suspected of carrying out the burglary on a jeweller's in Almuñécar in June this year.
According to the owner of the jeweller’s, thieves had got away with between 60,000 and 70,000 euros in gold and silver.
Guardia officers on spot-check duty on a road within the municipality of Viator (Almería) intercepted a car. When the two men in this high-range vehicle showed their IDs, the police recognised them as men with criminal records.
The men reacted belligerently so the officers decided to search the car, which is when they came across the backpack with the silver jewellery in it, many of the items were still in their original boxes with a total estimated value of 10,000 euros.
Consequently, they were asked to accompany the police to the Guardia Civil post, where further checking turned up that the jewellery had come from the Almuñécar burglary, so both men were put under arrest. The jewellery was confiscated, along with the car, two mobile phones and a large quantity of cash.
The recovered jewellery was returned to its rightful owners and the two men will remain in police custody until brought before a magistrate.

No idea, Gollum, sorry 😎
Wonder where the gold is. !!??
Patrick the 60k-70k figures was the jeweller’s estimate. The police haven’t recovered any gold, just the silver. Now gold, I believe (I may be mistaken) is worth five times the value of silver, which means 50k was gold and 10k was silver, if the jeweller’s figures are to be taken as gospel.
So is it 60 or 70 thousands or 10.??
Unless they hid the majority of the haul . Cleaver. !!
